Sarah Barton said:

“I am extremely honoured to have been chosen to be given the title of Honorary Freeman, especially as my heart and focus is in the voluntary and community sector.  There are many worthy people within our community that deserve this type of recognition and I am very humbled to be one of those who have been nominated and put forward to receive the award. It was a really lovely day and one that I was able to share with special friends that have supported and helped me throughout my journey as a volunteer”

Leader, Miles Parkinson OBE :

“As Chairman of Accrington Stanley FC, Andy Holt has taken Hyndburn by storm and inspired the next generation to get involved in their local club, either through playing football or supporting the team. With shirt giveaways to thousands of children and saving the club, which was on the verge of folding, Andy’s actions have cemented our place on the map, bringing people to our borough from all over the world.”
