Churchfield House receive £1,500 for essential maintenance

Last week Leader, Cllr Marlene Haworth and Deputy, Cllr Peter Britcliffe, were delighted to present a cheque for £1,500 to Churchfield House in Great Harwood, to help their ongoing community efforts and contribute towards upkeep of the community venue.
Maureen Tomlinson, Vice Chair of Churchfield House and Civic Society said:
“We have had to have a lot of piping replaced outside recently and this money will really help us with general maintenance and upkeep of the building.
“This beautiful house was left to the people of Great Harwood and we took over the management from the council around 10 years ago. Any money we make from what we do is ploughed back into the upkeep of the house.
“This week alone we have had a birthday party, a group gathering, a funeral and our tea rooms are also open. We are volunteer led and always looking for people to help us. Do get in touch and come along if you have a few hours to spare.”
Cllr Marlene Haworth, Leader of Hyndburn Council, said:
“I am absolutely delighted to be able to make this cheque payable to Churchfield House to help them with some work that needs doing. They do a fantastic job here and to be able to help is a pleasure.”
Located in Great Harwood, Churchfield House offer a range of services and spaces to hire and enjoy for everything from corporate events to weddings. Volunteers are always welcome to help with the outdoor maintenance and general day to day running.
