Upgrades to Rishton Park Complete for Christmas

Hyndburn Council have invested over £45,000 in improving accessibility of paths and ease of use at Cutwood Park in Rishton.
Path upgrades and viewing terrace refurbishment are set to be finalised this week at the Award-Winning Green Flag Park in Rishton, just in time for Christmas.
The funding has enabled upgrading the park’s network of paths and bolstered the main infrastructure, ensuring that the park continues to meet the high standards required for the Green Flag accolade and continues to serve the local community.
One of the most notable enhancements is the refurbishment of the popular viewing terrace overlooking Rishton Reservoir.
Cllr Smithson, Deputy Leader of the Council and portfolio holder for Green Spaces, said:
“We are committed to investing in our parks and green spaces across Hyndburn’s towns and this project is a testament to our dedication to maintaining the high standards necessary for the Green Flag award. These spaces are vital for local residents to enjoy a variety of recreational activities throughout the year.
“The improvements are set to be complete by Christmas, which I hope means lots of families will venture out to enjoy the re-vamped park over the festive season, no matter the weather! Thanks to all the parks team and everyone involved in this project, it looks great.”
