Everyone is invited to celebrate Hyndburn’s vibrant community at a FREE event on Sunday 16th June at Haworth Art Gallery.

Come and enjoy an amazing day of live performances, family-friendly activities, games, stalls, exhibitions and much more.

 

Connecting cultures, Sunday 16th June 10am - 4pm. Haworth Art Gallery and Park, Accrington.

Haworth Park grounds and buildings will be alive throughout the day including:

Main Marquee – lower ground area of Haworth Park

  • 10am Tai Chi class suitable for all, take part in this gentle and accessible exercise class with Lighthouse Tai-Chi, no experience needed
  • 11am Singalong to a Musical Theatre show including all your favourite hits, performed by Just Imagine UK
  • 12pm Take part in a group dance class, suitable for all with DanceSyndrome
  • 1pm Watch a spectacular Bollywood dance performance, then take part in an interactive workshop with Bollywood Guinness World Record Breaking Ri Ri’s Dance Academy
  • 2pm Enjoy a spectacular Chinese Lion Performance accompanied by drums, with Northern Dragons
  • 3pm Community Poem Performance, with award-winning Respect & Dignity Arts group.

Picnic boxes are available for pre-order (£7.50 each) from the Gallery Kitchen, call 01254 491660 Wed-Sun 11am-3pm to pay and reserve.

Picnic boxes are halal and include: Cheddar and Sun Blushed Tomato Sandwich, Chicken & Apricot Pastry, Vegetable Samosa, Roasted Red Pepper & Feta Quiche, Chocolate Brownie, Raspberry & Cream Scone.

You are welcome to bring your own picnics to the event and eat within the main marquee or outdoor spaces, please help us keep our park clean and be responsible for your own rubbish.

*Please do not bring any strawberry products to the event, one of our wonderful performers has an airborne allergy. 

Getting to the event

A FREE heritage shuttle bus from Accrington Town Centre to Haworth Art Gallery is running throughout the day from 10am-4pm, back and forth to the event. The bus does not need to be pre-booked and everyone is welcome to hop on board!

On-site parking is closed for the duration of the event, people are encouraged to use public transport or walk where possible. On-street parking is very limited, and we ask visitors to be mindful of residents’ access and emergency vehicle access, if parking road-side.

Disabled ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ parking is available for blue badge holders only, this can be accessed by presenting a blue badge at the main gates on Hollins Lane.

Lumini Experience 

In addition to a fantastic line-up for Connecting Cultures on Sunday 16th June, a huge ‘Lumini’ art installation is arriving at Haworth Art Gallery. Experiences within the Lumini are available by booking in advance.
