Gypsy and Traveller and Travelling Showpeople
Provision is identified within Hyndburn for Gypsies and Travellers and Travelling Showpeople up to 2016 through the adopted Hyndburn Core Strategy. Policy H3 of the adopted Core Strategy made this provision through the identification of a new site at Sankey House Farm which has now been delivered.
The Gypsy and Traveller and Travelling Showpeople Accommodation Assessment – Final report August 2014 (known as a GTAA)considers existing provision, current usage levels and assessments of future needs to 2018 and beyond.
The policies for Gypsies and Travellers and Travelling Showpeople are being reviewed and updated as part of the new local plan for the Borough. A new GTAA was undertaken in 2019 and can be found on the Council’s Local Plan housing evidence page
