Design and Access Statements to Accompany Planning Applications

Design and Access statements(DAS) are needed for some applications and the situations requiring a DAS were reduced in April 2010

The design and access statement should describe both the design principles and concepts that have been applied to the proposed development and how issues relating to access to the development have been dealt with and resolved.

For Householder applications a DAS is only required if the building is a Listed Building or in a Conservation Area.

Check the Planning Portal for the latest information on Design and Access Statements.
