Breastfeeding Friendly Places in Hyndburn

Hyndburn Borough Council is officially breastfeeding friendly, with the adoption of a new policy which shows how breastfeeding mothers will be made welcome within Council offices and other premises across Hyndburn.

The Breastfeeding Friendly Places scheme encourages businesses to sign up to promoting themselves as places where women can breastfeed safely in the knowledge that the staff are aware that breastfeeding in public is perfectly acceptable.

Mums are entitled to breastfeed their baby anywhere in public. What this scheme does is give parents the confidence that they won’t be drawn into discussion by members of the public who may not understand the importance of breast-feeding and that it is natural to breast-feed in public.
