About Benefits and NFI
The Council is required under Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 to participate in National Fraud Initiative (NFI) data matching exercises. Data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018).
We are required to provide data held for Housing Benefit and Council Tax purposes to the Minister for the Cabinet Office which may be used for the prevention or detection of fraud.
