Conserve Water
Collecting rain water in a water butt from roofs reduces the need to use tap water during dry spells and the plants 
prefer this natural water too. Reducing the amount of hosepipe and sprinkler use helps to preserve water and helps the environment by reducing the amount of water treatment done at large industrial water purification plants. See approximately how much water you currently use here (external site).
