About Church and Oswaldtwistle Gateway
The Church Oswaldtwistle Gateway Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is a planning guide adopted in December 2006 to help stimulate regeneration of an area based around historic canalside buildings at the Blackburn Rd/Market St junction in Church.
The SPD has been produced to help:
- Developers prepare successful schemes for the area
- The local community and interested groups understand the potential for change in the area
It explains, in detail, the planning policy for the area focusing on land uses, heritage, urban design and highway/access issues. It is a material consideration when determining planning applications in this area. A sustainability appraisal of the social, economic and environmental effects of the guidance was carried out as part of the preparation of the SPD.
