Adopted Core Strategy

The Core Strategy forms a key part of the new Hyndburn Local Plan – it sets out the strategic policies and framework for development in the borough for the period 2011-2026.

It includes:

• A spatial vision and strategic objectives for the area
• A spatial strategy and core policies
• A framework for delivering the vision

The Core Strategy was subject to a number of consultation stages and details are listed below.

Following submission of the document to the Secretary of State in May 2011 and a subsequent examination, the Council formally adopted the Core Strategy on 19 January 2012.
