Council Call for Heritage Strategy Consultant

Hyndburn Borough Council is seeking a partner (individual or organisation) to help develop a new Culture and Heritage Strategy for Hyndburn.
The Council’s recent award from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) includes over £1.2 million for an Arts, Culture and Heritage package, supporting the regeneration work planned for Accrington to kick-start the local economy.
The Strategy work will be in two phases, due for completion by April 2024, with a total value of up to £18,000.

Cllr Marlene Haworth, Leader of Hyndburn Council, said;
“This strategy work will help us ensure our UKSPF-funded work around culture and heritage is sustainable and benefits the whole borough. It will build on the exciting events programme being planned and the developing plans for Accrington Town Centre.
“It is important that all our work around Levelling Up leaves a positive legacy to improve the lives of residents and helps to drive forward our ambitious plans for transformational change.”
The appointed contractor will work closely with the Head of Culture and Heritage, a new post also funded by UKSPF, and with the Borough’s Culture and Heritage Investment Panel.
This project has received £18,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025.
