As part of the new ‘Leader’s budget’ set for 2023/24 Cllr Marlene Haworth was pleased to present a cheque for £400 to representatives from Huncoat United FC, to support their ongoing community work.

Cllr Marlene Haworth, Leader of Hyndburn Council, said:

“Ward councillors Cllr Danny Cassidy and Cllr Dave Parkins both expressed to me just how valuable the work is that Huncoat United FC do for the community. Their organisation offers grass roots sports for a wide variety of ages and they’re a key part of local sport and leisure.

“I am pleased to be able to help them with some additional funding and know they will put it to great use.”

Chair of Huncoat United FC said:

“This funding is really welcomed; it is going to provide brand new goals for our under 7’s team and I would like to say thank you to all those involved.”
