Hyndburn Council are inviting residents to attend a free live lunchtime workshop with Morgan Sindall, the Accrington Town Square Delivery Partner contracted to deliver the initial stages of the highly anticipated Town Square projects for Hyndburn.

The workshop will take place online on Tuesday 27 February 2024 from 12:15pm to 13:00pm as part of the ongoing live lunchtime workshop series delivered by the team at Hyndburn Borough Council.

The workshop will explain the opportunities available for the local supply chain and how Hyndburn-based companies of all shapes and sizes, and providers of a wide range of products and services, can get involved in what will be one of the most significant projects in Accrington Town Square.

Projects leads will explore questions such as: what supply chain will be needed; what support is available for smaller companies who want to be involved; what employment and training opportunities there will be for local people; and how can local businesses and organisations who aren’t involved in construction benefit from the project.

As part of their social value commitments, Morgan Sindall will maximise usage of local supply chain partners and labour to deliver the works.  Those who want to get involved can meet the Morgan Sindall team at this event, or at their upcoming ‘Getting Connected’ events which will be run throughout the project.  Alternatively, they can register via the Local Supply Chain (LSC) platform to be notified of upcoming opportunities.  More information on ‘Getting Connected’ events and the Local Supply Chain platform can be found on the Accrington Town Square website.

Simon Arnott, Managing Director for Morgan Sindall’s North West Region, said:

“We are committed to keeping residents and businesses at the very centre of these ongoing works, and this workshop is the perfect opportunity for us to chat with locals directly about the upcoming plans.

“We welcome any questions that residents may have – whether that’s about how to get involved or the wider project plans – and it is a privilege to have such a strong local supply chain available to us that we are excited to make best use of.”

Salma Chaudry, Economic Development Manager for Hyndburn Council, said:

“We are really pleased to see this series of live lunchtime workshops well underway now and I have no doubt that this one will be especially popular amongst local businesses. As we enter such a transformative time for Accrington Town Square, this workshop is an ideal opportunity for all locals to ask any questions they may have about the upcoming construction plans and how they can get involved or benefit.”
