New local traders ‘The Artisan Bakers’ an independent family-run business boasting branches across Lancashire, are joining community traders in Accrington Market Hall following a successful series of pop-up stalls.

You will not find a bog-standard loaf of supermarket bread at this stall – they offer bespoke freshly-baked goods that use quality ingredients and are made by a small team of bakers.

Rachel Tyrer, Co-Owner of The Artisan Bakers, said:

“Every single thing is handmade- everything is rolled out by hand and no two products will be identical. There seems to be something nostalgic about our products. We have so many people come up to us and say how our products feel homely and rustic – it feels like something a little more special than just any old slice of bread and butter!”

Cllr Marlene Haworth, Deputy Leader of the Council, said:

“I can certainly attest to how wonderful the goods are at The Artisan Bakers – they definitely have a returning customer in myself. I look forward to continuing to visit both themselves and the other terrific traders at the Market Hall throughout the whole of 2023. The Market will be open as usual throughout the year, and so I urge everyone to make a visit – it is so important to support your local traders!”

Following on from their successful stall launch at Blackburn Market, Accrington Market Hall felt like a natural step for the business.

Sameena King, Manager of Accrington Market Hall, said:

“It has been a real pleasure to see The Artisan Bakers join our market hall and just hit the ground running immediately. It doesn’t matter what part of the market we put them in – people just cannot get enough of their products. I am so happy for them that Hyndburn consumers have embraced them so wholeheartedly.”

Accrington’s Victorian Market Hall is renowned for being a beacon of the community and entrepreneurship, offering a space for independent traders to thrive shoulder to shoulder with like-minded individuals.  Indeed, The Artisan Bakers have found themselves fitting in seamlessly and they themselves are the first to share just how welcoming Hyndburn has been so far.

Rachel Tyrer, continued:

“Without a doubt, the best part of being at the Market Hall so far has been the amazing people. We have been met with an incredibly warm welcome and we love that our customers will come chat with us about anything and everything! We have met, and continue to meet, so many fantastic new people every day – and we are even starting to see some familiar faces as people return week after week. Coming to Accrington Market Hall is one of the best decisions we could have made.”

Cllr Marlene Haworth, Deputy Leader of the Council, said:

“There is such an admirable feeling of connection throughout the Market Hall that it is always a pleasure to see new businesses embraced by the local area with open arms. I would say that the best thing about the Market Hall is that different traders can trade off the back of each other – they can support one another, and all grow together as a community.”

Currently on offer in the Market Hall is a diverse mixture of essential supplies and services, including beauty and holistic treatments, fresh produce, household appliances, and so much more. By having so many different businesses offering a variety of products and services in one place, the Market is a one-stop shop for everything a Hyndburn consumer may need.

The Market Hall will be open as normal throughout the whole of 2023, with The Artisan Bakers stall being on every week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays between 8am and 3pm. Head down to see their array of products for yourself and check out the other fantastic Market traders at the same time!
