Peel Park and the Coppice

In the summer of 2018 Peel Park and the area known locally as the Coppice received formal recognition as a Local Nature Reserve, official confirmation being obtained by Natural England. This makes Peel Park & the Coppice the largest Local Nature Reserve in Lancashire being a total area of over 47 hectares. The area comprises of 20 different habitats including lowland heath, woodland of various ages and species and standing and running water.
