About Planning Appeals
Please refer to the information on the Planning Portal pages Introduction to appeals for the latest guidance if you are the applicant and wish to make an appeal against a planning decision.
IMPORTANT– on 18/06/2019 the Planning Inspectorate made the following changes to the procedure:
Pre-notification required for planning appeals where the appellant requests the inquiry procedure.
With immediate effect, prospective appellants requesting an inquiry into their appeal must notify the Local Planning Authority and Planning Inspectorate at least 10 days prior to appeal submission.

The Planning Inspectorate manages applications for nationally significant infrastructure projects and further information and applications can be made through the National Infrastructure Planning website.
