Information for Hosts

Have you signed up to be a host/sponsor under the Government’s Homes for Ukraine Scheme and been matched with a family who have had their visas approved?

If you have not already been in contact with a member of the team at Hyndburn Borough Council please get in touch by e-mailing strat@hyndburnbc.gov.uk to let us know the expected arrival date of your guests. You can also contact us this way to ask any questions.

You are invited to join our Facebook support group ‘Hyndburn Ukrainians and Hosts’ to connect with others in a similar situation.

Hyndburn Borough Council will be in touch to conduct your housing inspection, invite you to local networking groups and signpost you to the additional support available locally.

Local organisation, Maundy Relief, are hosting weekly networking meetings for Ukrainian guests and host families. For information please email: beccymurrell@maundyrelief.org.uk or come along to the next meeting. The weekly networking meetings are Thursday, 10.30-12.30 at 36 Abbey Street (above Maundy’s furniture shop).

Thank you Payment for hosts

The Government has provided funding to assist Sponsors within the Homes for Ukraine Scheme. The amount to be paid is £350 per month per property (not per guest) in arrears for up to a year from the guests’ arrival, so long as the Sponsor continues to host under the terms of the Scheme.

The payment is optional and Sponsors must apply to receive payment by completing this application form.
